Valero Texas Open

On the Friday of the Valero Texas Open, Daddy and the kids left work and school early, and we headed to the TPC. Golfing great Phil Mickelson was playing in San Antonio for the first time in 22 years! When we finally got to the TPC, we found a great spot under a tree near hole 11 to "camp out" on while we watched the professional golfers play through. We witnessed many great shots and a few "not-so great" shots. Finally, Phil's group (and their HUGE following) reached our hole. The kids got to watch Phil play from a front row spot! After watching Phil play a couple more holes, the kids and Mommy got ice cream while Daddy continued to follow Phil (along with at least a couple hundred others!) for a few more holes.

One Fun Saturday!

Last Saturday, we had three parties/events to attend! Our first outing for the day was to Fiesta Farm (a children's farm/petting zoo) for a birthday party for a girl in Reagan's class. Peyton was invited, too, and they both had a great time playing around the farm and enjoying the different animals. They also got to go on pony rides!

After the party, we raced back home to get dressed up for a ball! Reece, another one of Reagan's kindergarten friends, was the honoree of a ball to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House and pediatric cancer research.

After the ball, we raced to Caroline's baby dedication. After a lovely ceremony, the whole family went out to enjoy a yummy Mexican food dinner!

At dinner, I commented to Peyton about what a good sport he had been all day... having to attend a couple of very "little kid" and "girlie" events. I told him that we needed to think of something "big boy" for him to do. "Hmmm," he said, "I think I just need some electronics time." And he got his wish... the next afternoon, he asked if one of his 3rd grade buddies could come over to play Minecraft... and his wish was granted! :)

Conversations

A few nights ago at dinner, Daddy and Peyton were deep in one conversation and Mommy and Reagan were deep in another conversation. The topic of one conversation was on the three parties and events we had plans to attend on the coming Saturday. The topic of the other conversation was protons, neutrons, and electrons. Guess who was having which conversation???

100 Club

Recently, Reagan completed her chart of 100 books she's read (or was read to). She got a certificate, a book of her own (Scooby Do) and her picture is in the library with other 100 Club members!

Spring Break at Grandma and Grandpa's House

Peyton, Reagan and Gregory spent several days of Spring Break at Grandma and Grandpa's house. They had two big surprises waiting for the kids!

First surprise... Grandpa bought a little battery powered John Deere tractor for the kids to ride. Between the three kids, they pretty much covered every inch of the property on it!

(Peyton was a little big for the tractor, so he spent more of his time driving the Ranger instead.)

Second surprise... (and mostly Reagan's surprise!)

A horse! Grandpa borrowed this kid friendly horse, Sugar, from a neighbor. It has been Reagan's dream (for months) to ride a horse! She couldn't believe it when she walked to to the pens and Sugar was waiting their for her!
