Colorado - Day 7

On Friday morning, we said good-bye to Brett, Stephanie and Gregory as they headed back to Denver to catch a flight and we headed South into New Mexico.

Our cabin in Pagosa Springs.

First stop in New Mexico - Echo Canyon.

We made it to White Sands by that evening.  The kids had a blast playing on the dunes!

After a fun evening at White Sands, we drove into Las Cruses to spend the night.  On Saturday, we hit the road early, and finally arrived back in San Antonio that evening, concluding another very special and memorable trip!

Colorado - Day 6

Thursday was our final day in the cabin and in Durango.  We spent the morning enjoying the forest and packing up.

We found Peyton's bacon at Wal Mart!  It was yummy!

Wildflower meadow outside the cabin.

Peyton getting ready to write a message in the cabin's guest book.

 Peyton's message.

Our cabin.

First stop of the day after leaving the cabin - Honeyville to do a little shopping and watch bees making real Colorado honey.

This was Reagan's special rock.  She claimed it looked like a diamond, and went on and on about how much she LOVES diamonds! :)

Seriously, it was the best meal of the trip!

Chimney Rock was in the background.  We decided the 2.5 hour tour would have to wait until the kids are older!

We arrived in Pagosa Springs mid-afternoon.  We spent the evening playing in the river that bordered our hotel.

Reagan pretending to be a mermaid.

Peyton building a dam of rocks.

Gregory's first time to play in a river - he loved it!

Grandpa showing the kids how to skip (or chunk!) rocks.

Peyton loved this rock.  He named it "airplane"...

Colorado - Day 5

On Wednesday, the four of us headed west of Durango to Mesa Verde.  It was a day of more breathtaking views!

View from the Visitor's Center deep in the park.

Getting ready to hike down into the Spruce Tree House.

Climbing down into the kiva.

Grinding stones

Spectacular views off the road out of the park.

Back in Durango, we stopped by the Railroad Museum.

Happy to see Gregory back at the cabin.

Spending the evening playing in the hot tub.

That evening, Dustin and I headed down to the beaver pond outside of our cabin and tried to take a few pictures of the beavers in action!
