We just finished putting Peyton back to bed after watching the fireworks. It's convenient that we can watch them from our front yard! I think this is the first time Peyton has actually watched a fireworks display. He loved it! He said "I want play with fire crackers!" Maybe in another ten years or so! After the grand finale, he said, "Want fire crackers again!"

"Have go to Wal Mart."
Peyton has learned a very important fact that will impact him for the rest of his life - If you need it, you can buy at Wal Mart! Anytime we run out of something - waffles, batteries, soap, anything, Peyton comments "_______ all gone. Have go to Wal Mart." We're definitely training the next generation to keep Wal Mart profitable!

Baby Updates
According to today's sonogram, baby sister weighs approximately 6 lbs and 6 oz., which is average (57%) for her gestational age. She was very wiggly all during the sono, and she even stuck her tongue out at us!
"Raisin bread have raisins!"
...was the profound discovery Peyton made this morning as I was toasting his breakfast. It's fun to see his little face light up as he learns or realizes something new. Dustin and I, of course, had no idea that he didn't know this connection until today. He likes bread and he likes raisins, so we had just assumed he liked raisin bread because it combines the two. Now he knows! :)

"Daddy has whiskers on lip. Daddy has whiskers on nose."
"Mommy's belly button go bye-bye." :)
July is finally here!
Before this month is over, our family of 3 will become a family of 4! It seems like we've talked about and prepared for this month for so long now. Now that it's here, I would love to just kick back and relax, but, somehow, my to-do list continues to grow. Nothing on it is absolutely necessary, just stuff that would be "nice" to have done before baby #2 gets here. We feel anxious but very excited!
Despite a terrible sinus infection, Dustin, climbed up in the attic this weekend to get down the containers of baby things we have had stored away. We found our swing, bouncy seat, mobile, exersaucer, activity mat, tons of bottles, and much more. Now everything is washed, wiped off, and ready to use!
Peyton was delighted to wake up from his nap and see all the new "toys"! He and his stuffed animal friends have tested and tested each toy to ensure that it will work well for baby sister. He favorite "baby thing" is the pack-n-play/bassinet set up in our room. We are having a hard time trying to keep him out of it. In front of us, he says "Dat baby sister's" and "Peyton too big", but, as soon as we turn away, he plunges over the top and into the hanging bassinet.
As our home continues to be overtaken with "baby stuff", Peyton seems to talk more and more about baby sister. One of his favorite comments is "Baby sister crying". Today he said, "Baby sister crying too loud". He also said, "Baby sister play with Kitty." (His favorite toy). He loves to play in the nursery.
We are having a sonogram tomorrow (today, really!) to check the baby's size. We are anxious to get another look at our little girl!
