ABF Class Easter Egg Hunt

This evening was our ABF's Easter Egg Hunt at a park in Frisco. Both kids had a great time filling their baskets with eggs - limit 12 per kid! :) When we got home, Peyton insisted on having another hunt in our backyard, so we did!

The End of an Era

Today marked the end of an era for our family... Reagan graduated from her crib to a big girl bed, so we no longer have a baby bed set up in our home! Reagan's bed was actually delivered in boxes a few weeks ago, but we haven't been able to put it together until today. We let the kids play in the crib on last time - the crib the both slept in as babies! Then Daddy took it apart and moved it into the garage to make room for Reagan's new bed.

Here's Reagan helping Daddy put the bed together.

Big girl beds are great for jumping!

Reagan's first nap in her big girl bed. She woke up while Daddy and Peyton were at soccer. As she got out of bed she said, "Daddy made it! Yeah! Daddy did it!" She can climb into and get out of the bed all by herself. I don't have all of her bedding, etc. yet, but I'll post pictures once we do get her big girl room all together.

Final Day of Spring Break

On Sunday, we returned home to McKinney - to a yard full of snow! We missed the 8 inches that had come down the night before. Reagan enjoyed playing out in it for a few minutes, but Peyton wasn't the least bit interested this time!

Spring Break Day 6

On Saturday, Reagan, Grandma, Stephanie and Mommy went to a shower (well, hosted a shower) for a cousin. This was Reagan's first wedding shower! She had a great time! After the shower, the boys came into town and we all went out to eat Mexican food with a large group of relatives.

Daddy, Peyton, Bob and Brett making a Mentos/Diet Coke geyser.

Peyton's fascination with Mr. Fredrickson from the movie Up continues! Grandpa gave him this pair of old glass.

Peyton made a "Snipe" bird from Up with legos. Saturday night we went out to eat with more family! We love it when we can get together with family on our trips to South Texas! It makes them so special!

Spring Break Day 5

On Friday, we spent more time in the bluebonnets and then took advantage of the windy weather to fly kites. Peyton got his kite to go all the way up! Reagan didn't really get the "kite" concept and let hers fly away! Fortunately, it was stopped by the fence! We also drove out to Ray Point to see Mommy's friend, her kids, and her new house. The fours kids had fun playing together. Daddy came in Friday night with Brett and Stephanie. The kids go to spend a few minutes with him before bed.

Spring Break Day 4

Kitty and Kitty "napping" together

There's nothing more fun than a big pile of dirt to dig in!

Fun in the bluebonnets!

On Thursday, we took pictures in the acres and acres of bluebonnets around Grandma and Grandpa's house. The bluebonnets and other wild flowers in South Texas are amazing this year! The kids had a good time running, crawling and even rolling through the thick bluebonnets.

Spring Break Day 3 - St. Patrick's Day

Reagan showing off her "Happy Go Lucky" St. Patrick's Day shirt

On Wednesday, Dad and I took the kids to Kiddie Park in San Antonio. Kiddie Park was established in 1925. It's an adorable "little kids" amusement park by the San Antonio Zoo. Dad's parents took him and his brother there as kids, and Mom and Dad took Brett and I as kids. So Peyton and Reagan were the third generation of our family to ride this cute little rides! I remembered a few things about Kiddie Park prior to Wednesday, but as my kids hoped on to the little rides, floods of memories came back to me! The park was crowded, so, to cut down on the wait in line time, Dad would wait in one line while I took the kids to a ride with little or no wait. Then, when Dad would get close to the front, we would join him. This tag-team effort worked well! Peyton and Reagan absolutely loved each ride! They weren't afraid of any of them! Peyton said his favorite ride was "all of them!", and Reagan said her favorite was the little bus - they rode this one several time! I think the little bus was one of my favorites as a kid, too! As Peyton and Reagan climbed aboard for their first ride, I was hit with a wave of memories of being about 4 and cramming onto the bench seats or chair seat with as many kids as they would allow to ride. The hand-cranked cars were a new addition. Both kids were actually able to move their cars. Reagan loved going around and around on the little airplanes -she laughed so much that a lady in line commented on what a good time such a little girl was having on the ride! After a couple of hours of fun for the kids, Grandpa and Mommy were ready to go. We met Brett and Stephanie for dinner and then headed back to Pawnee.

Spring Break Day 2

We spent most of Tuesday at home - recovering from the memorable drive! Grandma has a new cat and the kids enjoyed getting acquainted with her. Peyton had to indroduce his Kitty to new Kitty. Kitty and Kitty spent a lot of time together last week! Peyton took a ride on the Ranger to help feed the cows. He also wrote Reagan's name completely on his own for the first time - on a paper plate!
