As we planned our week long trip to Atlanta to meet baby Gwen, Dustin and I thought it would be fun to stop in New Orleans for a couple of nights. We left San Antonio Friday morning and finally arrived at our hotel in the French Quarter about 11 hours later (normally it would only be 9 but we hit traffic problems west of Baton Rouge). After sitting in the car for 11 hours we were all ready to get out and stretch our legs for a while! We checked into our hotel on Canal Street and then headed out to find an eating establishment that was unique to New Orleans but not so unique that we (ie the kids) wouldn't enjoy the dinner. Without time to really read reviews and menues online, we settled on the Hard Rock Cafe! :) The kids loved the restaurant - no one had to remind them to lower their voice! And it was okay to get up and dance to the music! Not wanting to expose the kids to too much Friday night French Quarter culture, we ate and headed back to the hotel as quick as we could!

Swimming Lessons
For the past two weeks, Reagan has been taking swimming lessons at our neighborhood pool with several little friends. She has really enjoyed swimming this summer, and her confidence is improving more and more!

Workday in Pawnee
Last Friday after work, we headed to Pawnee for a short visit and to help Grandma and Grandpa with some yard work. After arriving Friday evening, we spent some time playing in the yard and making a plan of action for the work that needed to be done the following day.
While walking behind some shrubs next the house, Grandpa discovered this blue indigo snake - already dead. Of course we couldn't resist taking a picture with it - as if there was some heroic tale behind the snack's demise!
On Saturday, everyone pitched in to help clean out the beds, trim bushes, and add new plants, flowers and mulch. Peyton was especially helpful when it was time to spread the mulch and water. We went back to San Antonio exhausted but satisfied with a full day's labor!

Back Yard Bible Club
About 24 hours after returning from Greenville, we kicked of Back Yard Bible Club week. Mommy has been on the planning team for several months, and Daddy was serving as a crew leader at one of the host home. Peyton, Reagan and Daddy went to the Posey's house each night, and Mommy and a friend got to bounce around from house to house during the week.
